Beginner Locksmith Class and Test 2024
8am-5pm Each Day
Teaching will be on basic locksmithing: keys,
knobs, deadbolts, duplicating machines, safes
cars, every aspect of Locksmithing.
You will be provided everything you need to learn the Locksmith
trade. You will be given a hands on test and a 150 question
on the 5th day. If you pass all your skills and written exam, you
will be awarded a certificate that you will need to turn a copy into the
State Board AESBL to receive a license for locksmithing.
Proficiency Certification Advancement
With every class you take with The Alabama Locksmith Association you earn elective points toward Certification.
The first level of locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Licensed Locksmith (ACLL).
The second level of locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Professional Locksmith (ACPL)
An ACPL has earned their ACLL, currently licensed, and has succeeded in an additional 15 elective categories, with a minimum of 2 classes in automotive, residential and commercial.
The Highest Level of Locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Master Locksmith (ACML).
An ACML has reached the highest level of Alabama Locksmith Association Proficiency Registration Program, with a additional 2 classes in automotive and residential and commercial.

Master Keying from Basic Progression to advanced concepts.
Concepts and Practice of Rotating Constant Systems. Application of System to Business. Rules & reasons for those rules by Manufacturer. It will cover the use of multiple key Sections to expand scope of keying in large or multiple facilities. Record Keeping, Master Key Programs Pros & Cons. Liabilities of poor record Keeping and Storage. The Class includes a Keying Manual.
Saturday December 7th 8am-5pm 8 CEUs
4 Hours Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC)
This class will cover design, History, Application, and Pinning Procedures for SFIC. The math and
concepts of the core are covered along with Pinning and Capping Procedures. The A2 Pinning System will be the
focus of the class. The A3 & A4 systems will also be covered.
4 Hours Schlage FSIC - LFIC – Corbin/Russwin, Sargent, Yale
This class will cover design, History, Application, and Pinning Procedures for LFIC. By Manufacturer we will cover
the math and concepts of the core are covered along with Pinning Procedures. Pinning of each System will be the
focus of the class.
Class Title: Alarm Lock - Networx with ArchiTech using DL Windows Software
and AirAccess Cellular Access Control Friday December 6th 8am-5pm
National Training Manager for Alarm Lock Andy Phelps CRL, CAI
This class will cover DL Windows Software programming, including setting up a system with users, time zones, schedules, running an event log for the Networx products. We will also provide instructions for the proper installation of the ArchiTech locks and on using the ArchiTech locks in standalone mode or using the DL Windows Software. Use of programming cards in standalone mode and adding users at the lock. Remote release, single and four button, programming and passage button.
I will send/receive programming using our Laptops to Networx products. I will demonstrate the Networx - Global Emergency Commands to issue a “Lockdown” all locks within the system from the PC and/or from any lock within the system as if there was an emergency. The Global Emergency Commands can also be used to “Unlock” all locks within the system from the
PC or any lock within the system.
I will also demonstrate the new Air Access web-based access control system. This system utilizes the Air Access cellular communicator and cloud software for an access control system that is completely IT network free.
Class Title: Auto 103 December 6th 8am-5pm
Taught By: A. J. Doody
Auto 103 is a programming class that is focused on Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen. This class will include Mercedes systems review EIS removal and using VVDI MB we will demonstrate on multiple EIS's All Keys Lost and Add a Key. We will review BMW Systems and the different tools available to program keys to each system. There will be multiple examples of programming on the bench including EWS, CASS, FEM, and ISN retrieval from the DME
Volkswagen Systems review as well as OBD discussion on the bench examples of programming. This class will discuss power needed for programming European cars as well as situations that can cause issues. Questions that need to be asked before taking a job programming cars in general (specifically geared towards European Automobiles)

5. Basic diagnostics and tools.
6. Brands we will cover: Ford, GM. Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Jaguar/Land Rover
7. Time permitting we will discuss pros and cons of other brands.
Lots of discussion and talks about the Nuances and differences of each brand we will cover.
